Title: WebCC iPhone
Post by: PsuFan on September 17, 2012, 11:13:49 PM
To all WebCC iPhone gamers:

I'm sorry to announce that all updates for WebCC iPhone have been put on hold. Its a slightly complicated domino affect that I will try and explain as simply as I can. Behind the scenes to most, after a new operating system (iOS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ios)) is released so is a new version of Xcode (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xcode). Xcode is a software developer kit (SDK) designed by Apple that allows you to write apps for the iPhone/iPad. This new version of Xcode allows developers to access new features in the operating system as well as develop code to support new devices (such as the iPhone 5). So the first problem is the new Xcode requires a new version of Apples computer operating system (Mac OS X). Apple also decided that this new version of Mac OS X would not be supported on my Apple computer because it is too old, which was purchased in 2008 for the sole purpose of developing WebCC iPhone.

Unfortunately it makes it near impossible for me to test and develop new versions of WebCC iPhone. Rest assured, this will not be the last version of WebCC iPhone. It will be put on hold while I figure out the computer situation (do I try and sell the old computer, etc). This may cause some issues for future iPhone 5 users because of the change in screen size. I do not know how this change will affect the millions of apps in the App Store (including WebCC) but I hope you will have patience in waiting for an update to bring full compatibility to the iPhone 5.

Luckily, however, WebCC still works on Apple's new iOS (well, when it's on my iPhone 4). From what I gather, it would not still work on the iPhone 5 .

It works fine on the iPhone 5 (or any other device) on iOS 6. It is unable to utilize the bigger screen, everything else works just fine.

Everything has been resolved with developing for the iPhone 5. I plan on having a new version in the second week of January. Thank you for your patience regarding this matter.

The new version will feature:
- iPhone 5 support
- Landscape support
- More levels
- Password level access so you can keep in sync with devices

3000 is likely not enough!  Those of us who like levels like lots and lots of them.

Are there any new tiles to come with the new iOS update? Like, tiles that are in the online version already?

There's only one tile that isn't in the iOS version and that's force squares. I need to release this update ASAP. They won't make it in time.

Makes sense. I was actually under the impression that things such as the purple button wasn't yet programmed.

I had to go check make sure sticks were in there, I played my Fire Sticks (http://webccgame.com/?page=play&user=PsuFan&pass=STIC) level. It has a purple button as well.

Very nice. I look forward to new levels. Ones I've played before. Oh well.

It has a unified password system, skip levels on other devices. Passwords for levels with force tiles will not be accepted.

Does this mean you need some good levels without force tiles for a pack?  I can try my list of good levels that are not in packs and see if there are a dozen or so without force tiles for you.

Force tile levels have automatically been removed from WebCC iPhone. I have not found the best way to control them yet.

Also I am seeing the updated version, features, and pictures in my App Store but when I download the game it is the OLD version. Not sure whats up with this.

E: it worked on someone else's phone.

Also I'm begging of any one that has the app, please write a review. There are extremely misinformed people writing terrible reviews.  :-[ Thanks

by Crap7226 - Version 2.1 - Dec 11, 2012

False advertising! So disappointing. I paid $2.99, this game is not the original CC levels, and there are only 18 levels! I feel duped and cheated out of my money. Wish there was some way to get refunds for apps.

Jeez... Maybe in the next version when people finish a pack there's a pop-up that explains that there are more packs. Maybe even with a button that takes you there. Then these idiots MIGHT get it.

Also, I found a place where there is a bug. I was playing my own levels (because I am a huge narcissist) and was on level 7. I pushed a block onto fire and then accidentally hit up again and the block disappeared.

Also, in the full-screen mode, if the device is sitting flat, it flips it upside down when you hit Play.

It does not freeze when you die, and I accidentally stepped on a fire tile and it crashed when the fireball hit me, although I can't seem to repeat that last bit.

There are levels with force buttons that are acting as walls also.

Other than that, I am really enjoying having new levels!

It also doesn't identify the last level correctly.

You have to explain the fireball bit. Was up the direction you were pushing to begin with? Did you have boots.

Yes, up was the direction it was being pushed and no I did not have boots.

Sorry for the dump of issues right away, but it is my job here, I think.

np, so you pushed the block off the fire and it disappeared? Did you die?

Yes, I did die. In tested pushing it against a wall as well and the block just seems to disappear.

The fire/block was up against a wall?
Title: Re: WebCC iPhone
Post by: CraigV on January 13, 2013, 11:57:33 PM
It was at (0, 9). I pushed up, it disappeared. A wall was at (0, 10). I pushed right, the block disappeared.

You pushed it into a wall and it disappeared and you died?
Title: Re: WebCC iPhone
Post by: CraigV on January 14, 2013, 03:04:56 PM
LikelybI died because there was fire beneath it and I got burned when I hit the fire.

But you pushed it into the wall? lol
Title: Re: WebCC iPhone

At that point I was working on exploring the bug. You have to test a bug in different ways to help fix it.

I don't care a whole lot if it disappears after you die, but if you pushed it into a wall when you were not supposed to be able to, then thats a different story.

Alright. So this is the first GIF I've ever made, and the fireball patterns are off (because of how I had to take screenshots every time I moved), but you should be able to see the bug here.

No, I was burned and died. When the fireball hit me, I disappeared.
